Doc

Yesterday Julie had her 38 week doctor appointment to see the progress of the baby. Everything checked out ok and we are moving right along. We are both very anxious for the day to come.

President's Day

As a banker we do have a number of holidays off throughout the year. Unfortunately most of these holidays happen when it is snowing in NE OH. I was able to get some errands completed including a haircut and picked up some items for the house. I was also able to paint the letters for the baby's room. We are both anxious for the arrival of the little guy.

Valentine

Valentine’s Day brought an interesting day. I made Julie breakfast and bed and then we relaxed for the morning. In the afternoon I went with her brother to play some indoor golf which was fun and look forward to doing it again. In the evening Julie and I went to the Medina Ice Festival to view the ice carvings. Overall very fun day!

Valentine's Day Dinner

Last night Julie and I had a nice dinner at Lucia's with a couple friends to celebrate Valentine's Day. Last year we rented a limo for the evening but this year we decided to scale back and enjoyed a fondue dessert at our friend's house afterwards. The evening concluded watching What Happens in Vegas. Another great evening!

Friday

Yesterday Julie and I had a nice and relaxing evening which included dinner and a movie. This weekend is Valentine's weekend and we have a few things planned. We are looking forward to a relaxing weekend!

Acceptance

I accepted an offer to transition into a new role that really fits my skill set much better. I am looking forward to the opportunity this new role presents and I know long term I will feel greater career fulfillment.

Offer

Yesterday was another interesting day as I received an offer to take a new role within the organization. I am really excited about getting back into the sales force and generating revenue for the company. My passion has always been in sales and I am looking forward to the next opportunity.

Chili and Snow

Yesterday Julie and I both worked from home due to the impending snow storm. During the day it snowed pretty regularly causing most of the roads in our area to be completely covered. In the evening we had some chili to warm up and enjoyed the evening by watching the Cavs game.

DR Office

I woke up with a sore throat and normally I would not go to the doctor. However since the baby is going to come any day now I thought I better get it checked out. The good news is it is not contagious so if he arrives soon I will be able to take care of the little man.

Super Bowl

The Super Bowl was really good and was a time we could relax with Julie’s family. My brother was able to stop over as well with his son. It is really great to be blessed with a great family we are so fortunate.

Whoa

On Friday we had a chance to meet the new neighbors in the development. As it turns out we are the only ones who have not gone through birth labor yet. All of that came to a close last night when Julie went into pre labor and has been having some contractions. We took a little trial run to the hospital and they sent us home for some rest. It is only a matter of a couple days that we will get to meet the little guy. Should be a thrilling ride the next couple days!

Doctor Appt

Yesterday was an interesting day to say the least. Julie had a routine doctor’s appointment to see how things were going with the pregnancy. We are about a month away and expected to hear the same old story – every thing looks good see you next week. This time was very different the doctor said all looks good but you might be going into labor sooner rather than later. We are excited and nervous and looking forward to the upcoming days.

Five Guys

Yesterday had a nice day at the office and felt good after a solid nights sleep. Julie and I had dinner at Five Guys which have some of the best burgers around.

Sleep

What a difference a good night’s sleep can have on someone. I slept a solid 7 hours last night and woke up refreshed and ready to go. Even though I had to travel to Pittsburgh yesterday I was still able to get some cardio exercise in the evening.

February is Here

Another day with 2 workouts and Julie and I finished some things on her official nesting list. Today was a day filled with some ups and downs but had a nice lunch with a close friend at work.

Sunday

Yesterday after staying at Julie’s parents we woke up and had a very nice breakfast with our family. It was fantastic and followed by a nice church service. In the afternoon we were able to do a few hours of babysitting which was fun.

Wonderful Weekend

This weekend was filled with some fun and exiting things to do. It started off on Friday with a baby shower for Julie at her work. Her mom and I were surprise attendees and it was a really nice time. We followed it up by going to Target on Friday night to do some shopping and picking up some items for the new arrival.

Saturday started off with a bang with a great workout in the morning and then some more shopping at Babies R Us. I think we are finally ready for the baby and have all of the necessary items. In the evening, Julie and her mom went to see the Wizard of Oz staring her cousin. The boys went to Wheeling WV for a little casino action. Although no one won big it was really fun.

2 a Days and the Bag is Packed

I not only found time to work out once I made it in twice today to help burn off some stress. After I was finished Julie I packed the bag for the hospital in case the baby decides to stop in a little early. We finished the night with a nice movie and a great night sleep – really 7 straight hours.

Hobby Lobby

Last night Julie and I went to Hobby Lobby to pick up some letters for the baby’s room. It will be interesting to do a little craft project over the next couple of days. After dinner we had a chance to watch the State of the Union address. We both have concerns about the current administration and the policies that are being put in place.

Pittsburgh

I had a good dinner with a co worker while we were both in Pittsburgh last evening. This is the first time I have traveled or been away from Julie since the holidays and it was kind of strange. Dinner was good and I learned some good tips about fatherhood.

Monday

I had a busy day at the office which was really a breath of fresh air. When I am busy at work the day seems to fly by. Julie and I had a relaxing evening watching the Cavs secure another win against the Heat. It felt good just to kick our feet up and relax after a very busy weekend.

Baby Shower

Yesterday our mom’s hosted a baby shower for Julie to celebrate our future new addition. It really is great to have great family and friends who can support us on this future endeavor. Not to mention we did get some really cool stuff and now just have to make some last minute purchases. March will be here before we know it!

Melting Pot

We had a chance to enjoy a nice dinner with Julie's brother and girlfriend at the Melting Pot Fondue restaurant. It was a really nice to spend time with family and enjoy a unique dining experience.

Dinner and a Movie

Yesterday was a busy day for both of us at work. The best part about being married to a great person is regardless of how long the day we made time for each other at night. We had a nice time at dinner and had a very good conversation about career changes that might be around the corner. We finished the night by watching a movie. Seriously streaming NetFlix is the wave of the future.

Birthing Class

Julie and I attend our second birthing class session yesterday which included a tour of the rooms and delivery. It became very real for both of us that our lives will be changing soon. Some people do not think the classes are helpful and we were fortunate to get in. As of now I can honestly say it is well worth the $30 to learn a little more about the process.

Past Couple Days

Interesting couple of days – spoke to some folks about a possible new role within the organization. Role seems to be very exciting but I will have to really think about the long term impact I can make.

I had a great day in Pittsburgh yesterday working on a key sales campaign for the corp. as well as finalizing a project. Pittsburgh is a vibrant city.

Daycares and Parents

Yesterday was an action packed day. Julie and I spent the entire morning looking at daycares for the baby. It is interesting to see the different approaches each facility takes to make you feel comfortable while making a very tough decision. In the evening my parents came up to have dinner with us. We had a great dinner and we are grateful to have such great parents.

Julia's 3

It is hard to believe that my friend’s daughter turned 3 and we celebrated her birthday yesterday. Time really does go by so fast it seems like just yesterday she was falling asleep on my chest at 6 weeks old. It was a great time to celebrate with close friends.

Friends and Family

Yesterday I had a chance to visit my old barbershop that I used to go to for 10+ years. It is nice catching up with folks and also nice to see some things do not change. In addition to the barber shop great day with friends and family. Enjoyed the game with Ron and dinner with the in laws.
